Vulnerability + Worth

One Week Series

So much of our behavior comes back to the way we see our self and what we believe we are worth. We live in a culture of scarcity. Of never being ___ enough. We walk through life trying desperately to meet impossible and meaningless standards, we shut down our emotions, push away from our true selves, thus existing in a state of depravity.

In the book “Daring Greatly”, Dr. Brené Brown states, “The opposite of scarcity isn’t abundance; the opposite of scarcity is ‘enough’ or what I call wholeheartedness. The core of wholeheartedness is vulnerability + worth.”

We must be vulnerable in order to know God, and to build a meaningful relationship with them. It requires assessing what you believe to be true about yourself. It means discarding the hurtful and damaging labels, and re-assessing what God says to be true.
